Jonathan Cape 1966 (256 pages): FINE condition book and jacket; unclipped jacket, and most importantly, the first state of the first impression (as denoted by copyright page showing 'First Published 1964' (rather than the later, second state 'March 1964'). The jacket presents in phenomenal clean and unfaded condition, with the delicate pink peony flower retaining all its softness but also vibancy. This book tends to brown terribly, but this example shows none of this. No spine fade. Clean, tight boards, sharp and square. Mark-free internal pages - all bright and white with no spotting/foxing or any other blemishes. Creamy-white page blook all round. A superb example of a title typically found in poor condion.
